Five Star Cleaners kicks off the 2017 Cold Days, Warm Hearts Coat Project

Tune into MIX 96.1 and Q 101.9 to learn how you can donate a coat, and get a little present for yourself.

For over 30 years, Five Star Cleaners has been working to keep San Antonio warm for the winter through our annual Cold Days, Warm Hearts Winter Coat Project.

Over 120,000 coats have been collected, repaired, and cleaned and provided to the good folks at SAMMinistries (SAMM) and Christian Assistance Ministries (CAM) for distribution to their clients who may not have the means to purchase coats.

COLD DAYS, WARM HEARTS runs November 27, 2017 – January 31, 2018

Donors are invited to drop off new or gently-used men, women and children’s coats at any of the 17 convenient Five Star Cleaners locations between November 27 through January 31. As a gift for donating, each person receives a receipt for tax purposes and a $5.00 Gift Certificate toward your next Five Star Cleaners order.

To spread the joy of giving even further this year, Five Star Cleaners has partnered with Alamo Drafthouse in San Antonio to present Warm Heart Wednesdays.

Every Wednesday from December 13 through January 24, patrons of Alamo Drafthouse can bring in a new or gently used coat and receive a free popcorn and $5.00 Five Star Cleaners gift certificate for their coat donation.

“Through generous donations from Five Star Cleaners customers, as well as movie goers at Alamo Drafthouse, we can bring warmth to less fortunate women, children and men in San Antonio,” said Five Star Cleaners founder Sharlene Thum. “We are passionate about giving back to our community, and this year we hope to collect even more coats through exciting new partnerships and promotions.”

Starting December 1, tune into San Antonio’s Christmas Station Q 101.9 and win tickets to Warm Heart Wednesday’s kick-off event at Alamo Drafthouse Park North, with a special interactive viewing of the holiday movie classic, Elf. It’s all part of the Alamo Drafthouse interactive movie series where the songs, quotes and characters in the movie come alive in theater.

Tune-in to MIX 96.1 starting December 4, and learn how you can win a pair of tickets to see the premier of Stars Wars: The Last Jedi at Alamo Drafthouse Park North on December 16.

“We are grateful to Alamo Drafthouse for hosting Warm Heart Wednesdays, and to our media partners iHeart Radio and KSAT-12 for helping to make this year’s coat drive a success,” said Thum. “Their generous support assures we reach even more people who can donate, which means we can bring more coats to those who need them.”
