Donate a new or gently used coat to help keep San Antonians warm this winter!
Five Star Cleaners celebrates 40 years of keeping San Antonio warm with the 2022 Cold Days, Warm Hearts coat drive that begins December 16 and runs through January 31, 2023.
“What started in 1982 as a small service to the San Antonio community has grown into something quite profound. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that in 40 years we would be able to collect, repair, clean and distribute over 160,000 coats to those in need,” said Five Star Cleaners Co-Owner Sharlene Thum. “I am grateful for our partners, KENS-5 and Santikos Entertainment, for their continued support. Most importantly, I am thankful for our customers who continue year after year to donate gently worn coats. We couldn’t do this without you.”
Beginning December 16 through January 31, donors can bring in a new or gently used coat anytime to Five Star Cleaners’ 12 locations or 10 Santikos Theaters, including those in Cibolo and New Braunfels, and receive a Santikos coupon and 30-minute game card, and a $5 Five Star Cleaners gift certificate for their coat donation.
For those wanting to experience a little winter wonder, donors are invited to drop off their coats at Cibolo Santikos Theater on January 6 from 4-7 p.m. and enjoy a snow slide, music, and refreshments.
“The event this year is going to be extra special as we celebrate 40 years. Everyone is welcome. We really hope we can surpass our goal this year to collect 10,000 coats for those in need,” said Thum.
Coats will be distributed to those less fortunate through SAMMinistries (SAMM), Christian Assistance Ministries (CAM) and Pearl Street Church.
