Celebrating the season of giving, Five Star Cleaners, Santikos Theaters and KENS 5 hosted a winter wonderland on Friday, January 3 from 4-7 p.m. at the new Santikos Cibolo location. 836 new and gently used coats were donated, and donors enjoyed an evening of hot chocolate, hot dogs, snow tubing, and mingling with KENS 5 personality Bill Taylor.
It’s not too late to drop off new or gently-used men, women and children’s coats at any of the 15 Five Star Cleaners’ stores or any of the 9 Santikos locations throughout the city – Cold Days, Warm Hearts goes through January 31, 2020. As a gift for donating, each person receives a tax receipt and a $5 gift certificate for a future dry-cleaning order, courtesy of Five Star Cleaners. Donors will also receive a coupon for free popcorn and a 30-minute game play card from Santikos Entertainment.
Coats will be distributed to those less fortunate through SAMM and CAM, and Pearl Street Church. “Our beneficiaries are incredible assets to the community, and they need our help to assure their clients can stay warm this winter,” said Thum.
